The day started off with an Asian breakfast and a talk by Reverend Kodani about Issei immigrants an the difficulties they endured to make a better life in America. Next a visit to Koban to view the Fugetsu-do 100th Anniversary movie and manju tasting. Then off to JANM for a presentation of Issei artifacts and the distribution to each family of JANM’s research of Issei documents (i.e. immigration records, camp records). Y26 created a shadow box showcasing these documents and photos of their Issei ancestors and family. Each player presented their shadow box and explained what part of Japan their ancestors immigrated from. It was a great day!
