The next team selected will be Yonsei 31 for travel to Matsue, Japan in Summer 2024.

Application Requirements

​

Applicants should be in the 8th grade as of Fall 2023 and must have played on a SEYO, CYC, CBO, or JAO team for at least one season between 2nd grade and 8th grade.

• Application Part 1 was due on November 26, 2023 (11:59 PM PT) and is no longer available.​

• Those who submitted Application Part 1 should have received the link to Application Part 2.

• Application Part 2 is due on December 1, 2023 (11:59 PM PT) including the following materials:

  • Copy of current report card or progress report; minimum 3.0 GPA required

  • Photo of player

  • Photo of player with their family

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from non-family members (If recommenders prefer submitting their letters directly to Yonsei, they may be emailed to yonsei31applicant@gmail.com)

Yonsei reserves the right to determine eligibility on a case by case basis.

• Saturday, January 13 - Tryouts & Brief Essay (all parents are encouraged to attend)​​

  • ​In the event of illness or injury with a doctor's note, an unedited game or practice video taken within the last 12 months will be accepted if submitted on this day.

  • Even if submitting a video, applicants must attend tryouts except for COVID cases or other illness with a doctor's note.

• Saturday, January 20 - Applicant & Parent Interviews (all parents must attend)

  • Interviews last approximately 20 minutes. Applicants and parents are interviewed separately.​​​​​​

There will be no alternate or make up days for tryouts or interviews.​

Participation Requirements 

​​

• Players must fundraise their trip expense and program costs, and participate in Inbound Year (second year) fundraising.

• One parent/guardian must accompany the player to Japan.

• Each family may host a player from Japan during the Inbound Year.

• Parents are highly encouraged to attend all meetings and activities but one parent/guardian must attend all meetings and activities with the player. ​School conflicts and family emergencies should be discussed with the Team Board members for exceptions.

• All players and parents must attend Orientation on February 3 and the Golf Tournament on June 24.

 Upon selection, additional requirements for travel, participation and commitment to the team will be provided at Orientation.
